Suspected dynamite explodes near APC secretariat in Rivers state.

There is tension in River state after an explosive device suspected to be a dynamite exploded near the All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat in the state. The Cable reports that the explosion at the APC secretariat on Sunday, September 30, was sequel to another one which went off earlier by 11am at a distant location. The newspaper states that suspected thugs who were reportedly being conveyed in a Toyota Camry were said to have dropped the explosive device at the party's secretariat and immediately drove off. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and its other affiliate organizations on Sunday, September 30, announced they have decided to call of their warning strike that had partially grounded economic activities in the country. The president of the NLC, Ayuba Wabba, made the announcement, according to Channels Television. Wabba reportedly said the strike is being called off as a result of the firm assurance of the federal government to reconvene the tripartite committee on the new minimum wage.
